Account Deletion and Data Erasure

At Uhuru Microfinance Bank Ltd, we respect your privacy and the rights you hold under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. You have the right to request the deletion of your Uhuru MFB mobile app account and any personal information we hold about you.

This page explains how to initiate an account deletion request, what happens after you submit your request, and the steps we take to ensure your data is handled responsibly.

Before You Proceed

Deleting your account will permanently remove access to your Uhuru MFB app profile and associated mobile banking services. Once completed, you will no longer be able to log in or view your previous transactions through the app.

Please note, however, that certain records must be retained by law under Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) regulations. These include transaction logs, KYC verification data, and audit trails, which are preserved for compliance and financial reporting purposes. Such retained data will remain securely stored and used only for legal or regulatory obligations.

You can request deletion of your Uhuru Microfinance Bank mobile app account using any of the following methods:

Option 1: From the Uhuru MFB Mobile App

  1. Log in to your Uhuru MFB Mobile App.
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
  3. Read the on-screen instructions and confirm your request.
  4. Once confirmed, your deletion request will be sent to our Data Protection Office for review.

Option 2: Submit a Request Form Online

If you are unable to access your mobile app, you can use the online form below to submit a manual deletion request.

Please fill out the form below to request deletion of your Uhuru MFB app account and associated data.

    When submitted, the form should email the Data Protection Officer (DPO)

    Upon submission, your request will be sent directly to our Data Protection Officer (DPO) for review. You will receive a confirmation email or SMS once the request has been received.

    What Happens Next

    After submitting your request, our Data Protection Office will verify your identity and process your deletion request within seven (7) working days.
    If additional verification is required, you will be contacted using your registered phone number or email address.

    Once your account has been deleted, we will send you a confirmation message. Any remaining data retained for regulatory reasons will be stored securely and not used for any other purpose.
